PVC Tubing, Rods, and Sheets
PVC – also referred to as polyvinyl chloride or vinyl – is known for its chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, dimensional stability, mechanical strength and self-extinguishing flame characteristics. It is typically formulated in two basic types, rigid pvc tubing and flexible pvc tubing.
Because of its high chemical resistance and durability, rigid PVC tubing is often used in plumbing or liquid handling applications. Flexible PVC tubing, in sheet form, has a variety of quite different uses, ranging from welding curtains to packaging. Flexible PVC tubing is used extensively in medical and scientific applications. In large diameters, it can be inner-braided to add additional strength and dimensional stability for higher operating pressures. Foam PVC tubing, which is much lighter then standard PVC tubing sheets, is available in a variety of colors and thicknesses and is used extensively in advertising or display applications.
Typical PVC Applications
